The Ensemble

Presidio Jazz Lab is a small-combo jazz project led by saxophonist and flutist Milo Benningfield, bringing together seasoned Bay Area musicians in flexible lineups tailored to each engagement.

The Music

The group draws on classic jazz repertoire from the 1950s through the 1970s, alongside more recent compositions and select original material, with a focus on swing, strong melodies, and cohesive ensemble playing.

Settings & Formats

Presidio Jazz Lab has performed concerts at S.F. Towers, a San Francisco continuing care community. The group is well suited to settings that value live jazz delivered with care, including cultural programs, private events, and select public venues where people come to listen and connect.

Ensemble formats include:

• Sextet: saxophone/flute, trumpet, guitar, piano, bass, and drums

• Smaller configurations available when appropriate.
